About Los Angeles Southwest College

Southwest College is located in southwestern Los Angeles County, near the intersection of Western and Imperial Boulevards. This year, multiple projects have been completed while others will be finished by the end of 2008. Completed projects include the: Campus Corner Sign (marquee); Northeast Quadrant & Entry Plaza; and the “green” Maintenance & Operations Building.

COMING OVER THE NEXT YEAR

• Construction of the Student Services Activity Center is underway and is expected to be complete by fall 2008
• Technology Education Center modernization is under construction. Completion is expected by the end of this year
• Progress on the new Athletic Field House & Stadium is steady with a finish date of fall 2008
• Work on a new 222-space student parking lot is underway

The new 64,437 sq. ft., Student Services Activity Center will house student-related offices such as the Associated Student Organization (ASO);Financial Aid and Registration. The new building is expected to qualify for LEED™ certification and will feature water-efficient landscaping and solar panels, among other green amenities.  Completion is expected in mid-November 2008.
