East Los Angeles College

About East Los Angeles College

East Los Angeles College is located just east of downtown Los Angeles, in the City of Monterey Park. ELAC has seen a variety of changes on campus this year as a number of the bond projects have been completed, including: site preparation for Parking Structure No. 3, the new Men's Baseball Facility, Campus-Wide Fire Alarm System Improvements, E3 and E5 Smart-Classroom Upgrades, Weingart Stadium Bleacher Covers, G3, K5 & K7 Mechanical Upgrades, Northeast Parking Lot re-surfacing, and Temporary Parking Lots.

To further the District's "green building" mission, energy-producing photovoltaic "solar energy" cells have been incorporated, and all new buildings will be LEED vertified, which means they are being built to standards set by the U.S. Green Building Council.

COMING OVER THE NEXT YEAR

  • Construction for the new Performance and Fine Arts Center begins
  • Construction for Parking Structure No. 3 to start
  • Modernizations to Buildings E1 and G1 and Entry will commence
  • Plaza construction to start on modernization of Baum Center
  • Weingart stadium improvements, including a new scoreboard and accessible East End-Zone Terrace;
  • Construction for new transit center to begin
